ReModelUN Pilot: Your Ideas, Your Impact

What is ReModelUN?

ReModelUN is a new way to enhance the traditional Model United Nations (MUN) experience.

Instead of representing countries, participants propose their own forward-thinking ideas in special committees. These ideas are then synthesised with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and shared with relevant UN1 agencies, creating a real opportunity for student-driven impact.

Designed as an easy-to-implement add-on for any MUN, ReModelUN moves beyond debate to focus on real-world solutions.

Our pilot program

The inaugural ReModelUN pilot, launched as a UNESCO MUN Special Committee on the future of learning, is organised by the Learning Planet Institute (LPI) and mymun.com. It centers on establishing a “Planetary Academy”, a global education institution that addresses “tragedy of the commons” challenges (e.g., climate change, resource management), through innovative learning methods.

ReModelUN students are invited to propose ideas for a “Students’ Charter for the Planetary Academy”, which may inform real decisions by the Institute and its partners, UNESCO and United Nations University (UNU), who have been exploring this concept since 2024.

Why It Matters?

  • Real Impact: Your proposals are reviewed and considered by LPI for founding a “Planetary Academy”.
  • Credible Collaboration: Organised by leading institutions, including LPI and mymun.com
  • Future-Focused: Valuable proposals deemed by LPI and partners are sent to UNESCO and UNU.

How It Works

  • Prepare with Study Guides provided by LPI, outlining the latest thinking on the future of learning, tragedy of the commons and the proposed “Planetary Academy”.
  • Participate in Committee Sessions (April 20 – June 10): Work together to draft clauses and craft resolutions that reflect your collective vision.
  • Draft & Vote: Each clause is credited to its originators, no single “main sponsor” controls the entire resolution.
  • Submit Resolutions: Final documents are reviewed by LPI, then forwarded to relevant UN agencies for consideration.

Recognition & Next Steps

  • Selected ideas earn a personal thank-you and potential future opportunities with LPI and the UN ecosystem.
  • All participants receive an official certificate from LPI, and mymun.com
