plaifon's Bio

I am originally from the outback of the northern part of Thailand. Growing up in a small town and having moved to two different bigger cities, I have observed that young people around my age accessed education of different qualities and many of them are underprivileged. I realised there is a huge gap in educational and socio-economic inequalities in my own country. This has driven me to continue my Bachelor Degree in Politics and International Relations since I was so eager to discover politics of other countries and how I could use this comparative political and social sciences knowledge to improve the life opportunities of my people. Subjects I am interested in are public spaces and civic participation, community engagement, youth & civic participation, education, politics, etc.

I have few experiences getting involved in research projects as per following:

  1. From October 2021 - April 2022, I worked as a research assistant intern for the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP) at Sciences Po in an education project to bridge educational inequalities in "l'école prioritaire," where most students come from immigrant backgrounds in Île-de-France. I was mainly responsible for the research intervention by creating educational content using a video editor, Vyond.
  2. In 2021, I have completed a six-month internship as a Children’s Rights Research Intern at #LearningPlanet. I managed Youth Empowerment Circle, a working group for youth organisations to meet and create meaningful collaboration, and research ways to enforce youth inclusion in the decision-making process at an institutional level. See the project here
  3. From 2019 to 2020, I have 1 full year experience managing a research grant organised by UK research agency. I have worked closely with Thai governmental research agencies.
  4. During my bachelor’s, I have worked part-time as a research assistant for an M&E project led by an international NGO called Right to Play, UNICEF Thailand, and the Office of the Basic Education Commission in evaluating the Life Skills of a youth project.
